Rules & Regulations

GENERAL RULES:

» Cell phones are not permitted in the Clubhouse, Fitness Center, or pool areas. Also, cell phone usage is discouraged on the golf course and tennis courts. If a cell phone is taken to the golf course or tennis courts, the ringer should be turned off so that the phone is available only for emergency outgoing calls.

» The Clubhouse is smoke free. You may smoke outside the front door or outside the patio near the Blue Heron Pub.

» Each member as a condition of membership, and each guest, as a condition of invitation to the premises of the Club, assumes sole responsibility for his or her property. The Club shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to any private property used or stored on the premises of the Club.

» Alcoholic beverages will not be sold, nor served, nor be permitted to be consumed on the premises during hours prohibited by law. Alcoholic beverages will not be sold or served to any person not permitted to purchase the same under the laws of the State of South Carolina or be sold for off premise consumption. All alcoholic beverages consumed or otherwise possessed on the premises of the Club must be sold and purchased at the Club.

» Children under twelve years of age are permitted on the Club property only if accompanied or supervised by an adult. Children under the lawful drinking age are not permitted in any bar or lounge unaccompanied by an adult.

» Members and their guests may not abuse any of the Club’s employees, verbally or otherwise, and shall not request special personal services from the employees of the Club who are on duty. All service employees of the Club are under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and no member or guest shall reprimand or discipline any employee or send any employee off the premises of the Club for any reason. Any employee not rendering service in a prompt or courteous manner should be reported to the Chief Operating Officer or supervisor on duty.

» Any member, guest, or other person who makes use of any apparatus, facilities or services whether they are owned, leased, or operated by the Club shall do so at their own risk.

GRATUITIES:

A gratuity percentage, as determined by the Board of Directors, will be added to all food and beverage sales for the convenience of all members. The Board of Directors recommends a gratuity of eighteen percent, which will apply to all food and beverage purchases. However, a member may change the gratuity amount as deemed appropriate.

Cash tipping is not permitted by members of the Club except with respect to valet parking, locker services, and golf cart attendants. In November, it is customary for the President of the Club to send a letter to all members recommending that they contribute to a Holiday Fund for all employees. The Club employs a large staff, and this Holiday Fund provides the membership with an opportunity to show its appreciation of their efforts. These funds are also dispersed to select personnel who provide regular services to Club members at the Plantation Club and Harbour Town. The Board of Directors shall be responsible for the distribution of these funds. All contributions are voluntary.
