Sea Pines Country Club Recipient of CMAA Award of Distinction -2010
Sea Pines Country Club was recently honored as recipient of an Award of Distinction from the International Wine Society of the Club Managers Association of America. The Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) is the professional Association of Private Club Managers in the United States with over 3,000 clubs represented.
The award was presented in recognition of efforts by the staff and management of Sea Pines Country Club’s to foster the enjoyment of fine wines by its members through programming, training, and menus. Recipients of the award are judged on the following criteria: Wine Selections; Wine Pricing & Sales; Wine Programs, Staffing & Administration.
The award is the culmination of efforts of the Club’s Food & Beverage Manager, Robert Parody, the Sea Pines Country Club Wine Committee and other members of the food and beverage team. The International Wine Society presented Sea Pines Country Club with an Award of Merit in 2008. The Award of Distinction is the pinnacle of the Society’s recognition program and is the result of focused efforts by Parody and his team to elevate the quality of the Club’s wine list, increase wine sales, elevate staff knowledge about wines and to provide informative, enjoyable member programs that showcase the Club’s outstanding food and wine products. Sea Pines Country Club offers at least one wine specific program per month for the enjoyment of its members.
Sea Pines Country Club has served as the host venue for the Chamber of Commerce Taste of the Seasons and Hilton Head Island Hospitality Association Winefest: the Grand Wine Tasting.
