Update on Club Operations for Thursday and Friday

Dear Members,
I wanted to provide you an update on the operation of the Club for the coming days. I am sorry it took this long but we waited as late as we possibly could to determine our next steps. There were some critical check boxes that we needed to address before we could make the decision. The two main ones were the safety and availability of the team (safety is the most important factor and comes first) and secondly, would we have deliveries from the food service companies for product. The good news is we have checked those boxes and we will operate the Club today and on Friday as follows:
Today Thursday:
Tennis is open and we had 2 courts in use this morning for 8 guys and Matt was doing lessons. Practice facility (driving range) is open and the golf course will now be open today at 2 p.m. for regular play (sorry walking only). Indoor and kids pool are open.
Friday:
The moving Company hired to relocate the gym could not make it here because of the impending storm, so the fitness center (Yup the entire fitness center) will be open tomorrow till 5 p.m. We will have fitness classes. Please note we disconnected the TV’s from the machines so you will have to enjoy the music and look out at the amazing view while working out.
The indoor pool and kid’s pool are both open till 5 p.m. The outdoor pool is closed as we used this opportunity of a possible closure to do a deep clean on the pool. We are working on the pool as we speak.
The golf course will be open as normal with golf carts available. Please note we did a light top dressing and rolling of the greens today.
As I write this message the US food truck is delivering product so that means we are open for lunch and dinner on Friday. Please note there will be a limited menu for lunch and dinner will be buffet only. To be clear we will not be passing out any menus on Friday night. However, Chef Brian says he will have a great Friday night buffet with some secret additions.
I encourage you to please go online and make reservations for tomorrow night or call the Club. It is important that we have an idea as to how many members will join us for dinner.
For those who have stayed on Island you now have an option to get out of the house get some exercise in, swim, play some tennis and/or golf before the rain arrives over the weekend.
Please look out for further communication on how we will operate the Club over the weekend. We are still watching the weather very closely and we will determine our next steps basing our decision on the safety of the team, the availability of food product and produce and Hurricane Florence’s wind and rain.
Thanks
Robbie and the team.
