| Update on Club Operations for September 15 - 18 |
Dear Members,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those families who are in the midst of Hurricane Florence and I trust the entire membership is safe and sound. Over the last 24 hours we have watched the storm advisories and the possible effects for us on Hilton Head Island. At this juncture it looks like the Island will not be impacted, except for light winds (less than 30 mph) and maybe 1-2 inches of rain.
Like I said in my message yesterday, we are basing our decisions on how to operate the Club on 3 major factors- Safety and availability of staff and the status of purveyor’s deliveries. While we did receive produce from our purveyor this morning, our major food suppliers US foods and Sysco are based out of Columbia and they have suspended deliveries until further notice due to the Hurricane.
Thus far today the membership has been very appreciative that all our amenities are open including the Clubhouse for lunch and dinner. Understanding that we have a limited staff in the kitchen, we are now officially closed for dinner reservations tonight as we have hit our maximum number of 235 reservations. We will not be able to accept any walk-ins, and there will be no food service available at the bar tonight. Our goal is to serve those who have made reservations. Thank you for your understanding.
The coming days:
Saturday: The fitness center will operate for regular hours. As a reminder the entire fitness center is open as we were unable to move equipment. All pools including the outdoor pool will be open. The tennis courts, the golf course and practice facility will all be open.
The Clubhouse is open and we will be providing a limited all day menu from 11.30 a.m. till 5.30 p.m. (We are asking for the last food order to be placed by 5.30 p.m.) While it may be an early dinner, the bar will remain open for the last member standing. The reason for the limited time frame on our food availability is due to the limited staff in the kitchen and to prepare for Sunday’s service.
Sunday: The Club will be open as if it were a regular Sunday. We will offer a modified all day menu with breakfast items added. On Sunday night, we will offer a full buffet for our dinner service. Reservations are now open.
Monday: Clubhouse is closed, however fitness, pools golf and tennis are all open. Per regular Mondays, there is no food service at the Club and please be reminded the Snack Bar is closed as we prepare for the Phase 2 renovation.
Tuesday: We expect to be open but if we have a lot of business over the coming days and we do not receive our food deliveries, we may not be able to do our offer Tuesday lunch. We will advise further.
Looking ahead, we have Trivia Thursday for 312 person and it is still a go. If you have a reservation for Trivia and will not be attending as you are out of town, please email or call the front desk and let us know your intentions.
