There is no other island quite like Hilton Head and no other community quite like Sea Pines.

      We are looking for a full-time, exempt, Membership Relations / Communications Manager.

      POSITION DESCRIPTION:
      The Membership Relations / Communications Manager is responsible for enhancing the overall member experience and ensuring member satisfaction at the Club. This is done through the facilitation and oversight of all internal communications at the Club and through the successful development and implementation of programs, projects and activities designed to maximize use of the Club by members and guests, and engage members in ways that create a meaningful bond to the Club.

      The Membership Relations / Communications Manager acts as the primary liaison between members and Club staff. This liaison role also extends to the local community through public relations efforts to promote Club events and to enhance the overall brand awareness of the Club. This position reports directly to the Director of Membership Development.

      RESPONSIBILITES:
      Member Relations
       Enhance the member experience
       Acts as liaison with the House Committee
       Coordinates with all department heads to insure the Club is supporting membership satisfaction initiatives and exceeding member expectations
       Builds rapport with new and existing members
       Recognizes membership anniversaries
       New member orientation to include one-hour sit downs and how-to's

      Membership Programming
       Develops and implements member events, projects and activities to increase and retain membership in the Club with the House Committee and the Ambassador Committee
       Plans the social calendar
       Assists in the planning and coordination of special member events working alongside the Event Coordinator
       Coordinates, promotes and schedules prospective and new member functions e.g., Member Trivia, Mix & Mingle, New Member Women's Luncheon, New Member Men's Luncheon

      Internal Communications
       Manages all communications with members, including new member follow-up, promotion of Club events and social functions, and Club news and information
       Oversees publishing of all internal Club communications including gathering information for the Club newsletter, Club websites and social media channels, and all member correspondence and communication
       Required to work in tandem with F&B directorates and attends weekly BEO meetings
       Maximizes member use of the Club by identifying and highlighting stories in and around the Club and encouraging Member participation by reinforcing relevant features, benefits and activities
       Networks with members, guests and the community at events to enhance brand awareness
       Maximizes the Club's connection with community and commitment to volunteerism; maintaining relationships with previous event hosts and members
       Coordinates with the General Manager/COO and works alongside the Director of Membership Development regarding all Club public relations efforts, news and media events

      New Member Experience
       Conducts new member orientation sessions
       Issues new membership cards
       Prepares new member gift packages
       Spearheads initiative for new homeowner bag drop within the Sea Pines Plantation circle
       Fosters integration of new members into the Club

      Membership Administration
       Educates membership on re-sale procedures
       Assists members with requests regarding membership changes and transition, e.g., resign list, membership classification changes (such as golf plans)
       Educates members/realtors regarding transfer of membership with home sales
       Assists members with membership transfers to heirs and trusts
       Attends weekly management meetings

      Member Retention
       Maintains resigned list and communicates with members about buy back procedures and activity
       Develops with the General Manager/COO, Director of Membership Development and related committees, membership marketing strategies to retain and develop the Club's membership base
       Maintains current knowledge of competition and what other clubs offer their members

      The Membership Relations / Communications Manager will be required to execute other duties not listed above as assigned by the Director of Membership Development.


      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
      This role demands a dynamic, outgoing enthusiastic individual that fosters relationships, interacts at the highest levels of the community, and represents Sea Pines Country Club with the utmost standards of service, integrity and professionalism. Additionally, the Membership Relations / Communications Manager should possess the following minimum qualifications:

       Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
       Effectively communicate with members, guests and employees in a friendly and positive manner
       Strong written and verbal communication skills
       Excellent customer service skills
       Must have an effervescent personality
       Experience developing, planning and coordinating event details
       Solid time management, organization and prioritization skills
       Consistently exceeds member needs
       Follows-up and resolves issues in a timely manner


      SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
       Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
       Experience using a CRM a must
       Experience using graphic design / publishing software preferred
       Knowledge of Jonas preferred
       Knowledge of golf preferred
       Four-year college degree preferred in English, Communications, Journalism, Hospitality, or a related field
       Minimum five years of related experience in a relations or communications role within the Club, hospitality, and/or service industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience
       PGA of America and/or CMAA membership preferred
       Must understand the essential functions of team
       Must live by the Club's core values


      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
       This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, use of measuring devices and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a minimally noisy location (e.g. business office with computers, printers, copy and fax machines, moderate traffic).
